Chemical Safety

My mom found a website about chemical safety. You can go there too and take the house tour: http://www.epa.gov/kidshometour/index.htm Now I'm going to tell you some things about it.

  1. Antifreeze can kill with just a mouthful of the greenish-yellow liquid.
  2. Ant traps should not be eaten they are as harmful to humans as they are to ants.
  3. Bleach can cause severe eye damage or even blindness and it can burn your throat.
  4. Bug foggers spray deadly gas, so stay out of the house when used.
  5. Chlorine tablets are about 85% chlorine and are very deadly.
  6. Moth balls, if swallowed, can make you very sick quickly.
  7. Motor oil should not be poured out as it is very harmful to nature.
  8. Stains and finishes can irritate your skin, eyes, nose and throat very badly.
  9. Wet-cell batteries have burnable liquids, so you should never break the seal.
  10. Milk jugs or other food containers should never be used for holding chemicals.
