Stitches and Pins

I have got a new sewing book. I only knew how to hand sew until I got this book. It is called "Stitches and Pins". It has step by step instructions on machine sewing fourteen projects and learning special techniques for machine sewing. I have already made a pillowcase and a book cover. In the next Stitches and Pins issue, I will send pictures of me with the pillowcase, book cover, and the tote bag I am almost finished with! And maybe a laundry bag too! After that I am going to make a potholder, a baby quilt and a apron. After that a blanket, another potholder and a skirt. Then a vest, a purse and shorts. Then there is only a nightgown to make! I am exited because the other projects were very fun! I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Answer to Puzzle #4:

1. 235 feathers. I have an odd number of feathers so that eliminates 2, 4, 6, 8, and 0 for the ones digit and 5 for the tens digit. That leaves 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 for the tens and 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 for the ones. 12 plus 23 equals 35, which you can see is possible. 2 is the hundreds digit to be sure, so 235 is my number.

2. 411 feathers. The hundreds digit is 4 because it is not odd, and the tens is 1 because it is not even. The ones digit is not even and the only odd number under 3 is 1, so 411 is my number.

3. 513 feathers. The hundreds digit can't be 6, and the possibilities for the last two digits, well, only 13 works because it can't have two 5s or a 7, so 513 is my number.
